questions for you Myke

ok here we go

1)did you let greg Crites score sideways? I noticed "dance of the urbanite" by triad (duncan  the vampire slayer theme from book  1 or 2) and the song used for his book "hard boiled headline" .good choices both and very apt(gotcha)

2) what is the name of the song that starts episodes of salmon & dusk? where can I get it?

3)are you going to re- podcast "how to disappear" with the edits and (ahem) name changes?

4) why am I asking so many questions?

REALLY REALLY glad to have more salmon & dusk. its one of my favorite stories ever. when you get publishe I will be there!

Answers!

Hey, glad you're happy to see the return of Kilbey & co and good to see you here. In response to your questions:

1) I actually had to look Greg Crites up, I'm afraid. Haven't heard his books. At first I misread your questions (It was early Sunday morning) and thought you were asking if I'd pinched the soundtrack from the guy who scored Buffy! The music is actually by an artist called Xema and can be found at: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/25001. I think the only other bit of music was thrown together from a few royalty-free loops. The Xema stuff is great, was very excited when I stumbled across that. Had no idea Crites had beaten me to it!

2) The theme is by an artist called Dilvie and is called 'Tribute'. I'll put together a 'music' page shortly with a link to the orginal file. The version on Series One has been (slightly) remixed by yours truly.

3) Watch this space! At the moment the plan is to publish and (small) steps are being taken. I'd really like to put up a newer draft at some stage.

4) Because you have excellent taste in podcasts and, quite rightly, wanted to know more? Any more questions?

Have I congratulated you on your choice of username, by the way?

ahhhh

now that makes sense! I know greg uses jamendo to get his music for his podcasts! check out dance of the urbanite  in its full form its good stuff

wierd how the podcast world has just shrunk

Strings clip

I haven't had much luck with this forum yet, but I will try to post yet again:

What is the strings clip that plays when the floater appears?  I swear it is from an old movie I saw.

Strings

Hi Kath,

Welcome to the forum, hope it behaves itself from now on!

The strings clip is from a CD of royalty free loops I stumbled across somewhere. I used some of the same loops to "beef up" the theme music a little. It may well have been used in an old film at some point - I thought it sounded quite film noirish myself.

cheers!

Looks like my posts finally

Looks like my posts finally took root.  Hooray!

I'm thinking it's from a quite old film, so it seems quite possible I am indeed remembering the same clip.  If I ever figure it out, I'll come back and post it.

Please do! Would be very

Please do! Would be very interested in finding out where the loop came from, cheers.

Annoyingly repetitive

Sorry about this but I want to repeat question 3.

I wanted to listen to How to Disapear Completely and found it missing from my podcasts. Most miffed, I was.

Any chance of it reappearing in any format? Oh go on. I'm sure you haven't got enough on your plate.
Can you at least put the old version back up for us hardcore junkies who enjoyed it even if you didn't feel it was perfect?

Twonk

Oh arse. Well now I can see the answers to the original post, I feel like a right twonk. But I will leave my question up, in the hope that it nudges you into putting some form of HTDC back online. (What if I said "Please" very nicely?)

HtDC

Hello and welcome Wordbird!

As a quick answer to your question, HTDC is still online at Podiobooks or can be downloaded directly from iTunes : http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=117388236

I'm really delighted people are still enjoying it. I suppose it's natural that (four years on) I inevitably find things I'd do differently now. I certainly don't want to disappear it, er, completely. Yet.

Also - thanks for the email! I'll sit down and write a reply tomorrow.

cheers!
