Podcasting (technical)

Myke:

Hi.

First - I love the whole Kilbey/Theo/Nero world, and your podcasted works to date.

Since your prior works, I've gotten a new mobile player (my windows mobile phone).

The player / headphone volume is a bit faint on the new files.

Is anything different in your setup (recording volume, etc), or is there a way for you to record the files at a *louder* output without disturbing anything else?

(This doesn't mean I'm wishing the noisy neighbors on you, just want to hear the story while listening on the train).

Thanks!

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed myself that the audio was a bit faint when I tried out Sideways 2 walking down to the shops.

It's probably due to my switching to Audacity for editing and mixing. It does seem to do some strange things to the levels. I'll try normalising the vocals to give them a bit of a boost and will make the louder files available on the feed.

cheers!

In general, if you come

In general, if you come across mp3s that are too soft, you can simply crank up the gain in any audio editor (Audacity, which Myke mentioned is completely free.  Some music players will even normalize your whole library (Media Monkey for example).  If the mix is off (i.e. music clips drowning out vox), there's not too much you can do.
